Along with the launching of the manhunt operation, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) advised suspended Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo to surrender.
According to NBI Director Jimmy Santiago, his staff’s search for Guo is intensifying after he failed to attend Senate hearings.
“We have an ongoing manhunt operation, and our personnel are doing their best,” Santiago said.
At the same time, Santiago said that it would be better if Guo would just surrender to avoid a more complicated situation. “I hope, at my request, Mayor Alice hears.” He will not lose favor if I talk to him,” Santiago added.
It may also be appropriate for Guo to negotiate and surrender to the Senate to make things easier. “If Mayor Alice is listening, there’s no problem that can’t be solved.” He can negotiate, resign in the Senate, and attend hearings. “That will all be fine,” said Santiago.
Meanwhile, the Philippine National Police (PNP) also assured that their search for the suspended mayor continues.
This is the response of PNP Public Information Office chief and spokesperson Col. Jean Fajardo to the threat of Senate President Pro Tempore Jinggoy Estrada that their budget and the NBI may be affected if Guo is not caught within a month.
